Barcelona born pianist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Marina Albero presents music from her critically acclaimed album, A Nomad of Sound—a genre-defying exploration of identity, movement, and musical kinship. Now based in New Orleans, Albero conceived and recorded this work during a transformative residency in the city, blending jazz, flamenco, Latin rhythms, and Mediterranean traditions with New Orleans’ unmistakable brass and soul.

The performance features music from the album, including selections that reflect the emotional arc of travel—beginnings, arrivals, departures, and the soulful in-between. She is joined by bassist Martin Masakowski and drummer Bryant Watson, whose rich, grounding tone and grooves add depth and dynamism to the journey.

Named Earshot Jazz’s Recording of the Year (2024), A Nomad of Sound is both a personal diary and a global soundscape—where each note is a step and every song a destination.
