Our Sanctuary Studio is located on the corner at 2301 Marais. This sprung floor studio is perfect for dance and large groups.

Our Seraphym Studio is located upstairs at 1225 Mandeville. It has large windows, lots of light and wooden floors.

ONGOING WEEKLY CLASSES

MONDAYS 4:30- 5:30pm :  Mom & Me Yoga & Support Circle: This class will be a unique blend of yoga practice and a supportive community space for moms. This class offers a gentle yoga flow and stretches, with a special focus on core and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Moms are encouraged to bring their babies and children of any age, as long as they are well-behaved.The class is designed to be less structured, providing a flexible environment where you can engage in yoga, connect with other moms, and share your experiences. $25.  PURCHASE HERE  Located upstairs at 1225 Mandeville. 

TUESDAY  8- 9:30 a.m.- YOGA WITH LISA GIORDANO – ALL LEVELS  ALIGNMENT 
These invigorating classes explore fundamental postures in progression. Inversions will be taught with support and modifications as needed. 
These asanas, when held and performed with integrity, are excellent teachers of Tapas, generating heat and building strength in the body / mind (prakriti) in addition to their wondrous curative properties. $15 – 25 Sliding Scale NOTFLF Pay at the door. Located upstairs at 1225 Mandeville.
 
WEDNESDAYS 8- 10pm : ACROJAMJoin ACRONOLA for an all levels community Acrobatics Jam. Learn tips and tricks with other community members in this interactive skill share and open jam session. Grab a friend and drop in. This class is a sliding scale donation accepted at the door. No one turned away for lack of funds. Suggested Donation $5-25. Located upstairs at 1225 Mandeville.

Bay Area performer PIXIE FORDTEARS joins us OCTOBER 23 for a fun dance class before her BEATS ANTIQUE performance that night. Fireball and Honey: A dynamic class ending with a mini choreo slathered with gooey movement, crisp attacks, and delicious recoil. You will learn some of Pixie’s signature style from her cross training and how she integrates it into her dance, drills with pops and locks to flowing movement… we will hit all intensities. Come dance with us and have some FUN!

Class is $45 in advance, $55 at the door, or pre-register for both classes and enjoy a day of workshops with Zoe Jakes and Pixie Fordtears for only $100.

ZOE JAKES : Oct 23

2 – 5 p.m. : New Marigny Theatre, 2301 Marais Street, New Orleans

 
Zoe Jakes has been belly dancing for 20 years, and brings playfulness and ease into the classroom that makes training fun! She desires to create an
inclusive environment so all humans can enjoy the art of Bellydance, and hopes that everyone can experience the grace and fluidity that comes with training in this form. Zoe’s signature style of dance incorporates pop and lock isolations, elements of classical Indian dance, jazz footwork, and modern lines, with lots of folk Bellydance inspiration. Zoe Jakes is a founding member of Beats Antique and composes music for them as well as dances. She is known around the world for her unique stylistic take on belly dance, and is also an accomplished teacher, sharing her knowledge with the next generation.
 

ZOE’S POP LOCK AND LAYERING DRILLS:

The technique behind her signature locking stylization will be broken down and taught in an easily digestible format. Students will receive many tools to help unlock the more challenging aspects of layering, as well as lots of fun drills in class to get the movements in their bodies. Be prepared to sweat!

Class is $65 in advance, $75 at the door, or pre-register for both classes and enjoy a day of workshops with Zoe Jakes and Pixie Fordtears for $100.

Dancemeditation™ :

Oct. 19: 1-3 pm & Nov. 2:  4-6pm

Lumiere Studio: 1225 Mandeville Street, Upstairs

Dancemeditation™ is a unique moving meditation system for self-discovery, healing, & evolution. It helps us be present in our body in the Moment. Classes are mostly non-verbal. No experience is needed. Kryss received her  Dancemeditation™ Instructor Certification in 2008, after completing the multi-year training program with Dunya Dianne McPherson, Founder. Kryss brings a lifetime of dance knowledge ranging from Ballet and Modern to Flamenco, MENAHT and Indian Classical, together with a deep fascination of the functionality of the human body to create a gentle space for rich movement exploration to occur.

MAGIC MAIDS:

Location: Sanctuary Studio- New Marigny Theatre & Lumiere 1225 Mandeville, Upstairs

 

Magic Maids is a performance workshop by P.6 Artists Eisa Jocson and Venuri Perera. Eisa Jocson and Venuri Perera will present the US-debut of the performance piece Magic Maids (2023-2024), a hybrid multi-disciplinary critique of the European history of witch-hunts and the modern exploitation of women as domestic workers. The performance will be followed by a women-centered workshop. The Magic Maidsperformance will take place at the New Marigny Theatre.

There will be two performances (Friday, November 1, 2024 and Saturday, November 2, 2024 – both performances will be from 2PM-3:30PM CT) and one workshop (Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 3PM-7PM CT).

Class is limited to 20 students, preference given to those who attend performance.

PLUS RETREAT  – FEB. 14-17, 2025

 

PLUS+ is a 4 day creation experience with award winning dancer, director, Amy Sigil, centered on making choreography quickly and with a joyful YES spirit! We will work with generating content, exploring observation techniques and editing works! 4 days in New Orleans Louisiana at New Marigny Theatre at Church of Art and Sciences. February 14-17 2025. PRICE: $650 or 2 × $325

TAMALYN DALLAL

Intensive Raqs Sharqi((bellydance) Weekend, June 7-9, 2025

In the Studio, 1225 Mandeville
 
A resident of New Orleans, Tamalyn Dallal’s 48 year  raqss sharqi (bellydance) career has taken her around the world to perform and teach in over 40 countries. She founded the Mid Eastern Dance Exchange, a non profit dance school and performing company in Miami Beach, Florida, which she directed for 16 years. She then spent part of each year, for 12 years in a teaching residency in the Aixis studio in Shanghai, China, as well as touring China and other parts of Asia. 
Also a writer, Ms. Dallal has authored four books, a screenplay and filmed three documentaries. Her knowledge and creativity run deep. 
This three day workshop will be June 7-9, 2025, from 10am to 5pm daily with an hour break for lunch. She will have guest teachers for an hour each day to teach about Afro Louisiana culture, dance and music.
$300 if registered by April 1st. After April 1st, $350.
