“Au Natchitoches Au Nouveau” is a concept album that infuses a variety of genres and influences: acoustic improv, vocal improv, drone, a capella, jazz, ballads, and cajun fiddle … in an exploratory reinterpretation of an ancestral Louisiana folk song. The album was recorded live in the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Every aspect of the project was improvisational. The album was on the Grammy Ballot for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella.
