Irene Collective: LAUREL CANYON 1979- Staged Reading- (Doors at 7pm, Starts at 7:30)

September 17, 2026 7:00pm–9:30pm

Join Us for a staged reading of the new play LAUREL CANYON 1979 by Grace Caroline Curley on September 17th at 7:30 PM. The reading is produced by the Irene Collective Theater Co (which recently produced A Streetcar Named Desire this spring) with Casting by Hunter McHugh, C.S.A. The reading will be held at the New Marigny Theatre, 2301 Marais Street, as part of this season’s Artist Residency program.

LAUREL CANYON 1979 follows a group of Laurel Canyon residents who, long past the neighborhood’s heyday, live with mother-hippie Marigold and cling to a time gone by. When a new neighbor moves in, Marigold and her friends must come to terms with the world changing around them.
This free event (donations accepted) offers a great chance to support a wonderful new play and learn more about the company’s upcoming plans.
Details on how to RSVP, cast announcements, and more will be shared in the coming weeks.
