The New Marigny Theatre Church of Arts & Sciences presents
a concert of Baroque & Beethoven for Harpsichord Solo
Beethoven played on the harpsichord? Yes, the 17-year-old Beethoven
studied the Well-Tempered Clavier and even wrote a Prelude in the
style of J. S. Bach.
At our concert, you can also meet Beethoven face-to-face,
as we will display the life mask of Beethoven, made in 1812 by Franz Klein.
Baroque harpsichord music from 1650 to 1750 will include composers:
Couperin, Froberger, Purcell, Rameau, Scarlatti, and the F-minor
harpsichord concerto by J. S. Bach accompanied on a Dutch Baroque
portative organ.
Free admission with suggested donations: $20 adults, $10 students
