Pink Teddy Bear April 19, 2025 The New Marigny Theater Tickets go Live April 4th!

AN EARTH DAY IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE! The New Marigny Theater and Pink Teddy Bear present an Earth Day event ‘Welcome To The Tiki Farm’, Saturday, April 19, 2025 at The New Marigny Theater. The music performance, from the debut album by the same name, will employ multiple projections, field recordings, soundscapes, and what is considered a first for the city, a scented environment to bring the outdoors in. Murf Reeves, program director for famed WWOZ, will MC.

The event will include special guest performances, plant, holistic and eco vendor booths, environmental awareness organizations, holistic practices vendors, food by Suis Generis restaurant and ambient music artists. More to be announced. Tickets available at www.newmarignytheater.org and EventBrite.

‘Welcome To The Tiki Farm’ is a sonic travelogue to The Tiki Farm in Pearlington, Ms. where local chef Ernie Foundas, proffering a zero-waste sustainable food ethic, grows the exotic fruits and vegetables that go into the unique meals prepared at his New Orleans restaurant, Suis Generis. The multi-media presentation is intended to bring the bayou magic of the Tiki Farm and by extension nature – it’s sights, sounds and smell, to the theater. The music and show incorporates the recorded sounds of the Tiki Farm including birds, frogs, bugs, alligators, underwater sounds, nature ambience, etc. to manifest the illusion, and also work as musical elements in the songs – in effect, nature as musical collaborator. Live mixed video projections, created by PTB head Carlos Grasso, include footage of the Tiki Farm and manipulated time-lapses of nature that function collectively as the film to the band’s score.

ABOUT PINK TEDDY BEAR: FARM TO TURNTABLE

Based in New Orleans, La., Pink Teddy Bear is a music and visual project. Inspired by nature, soundtracks and exotica music, PTB percolates like a film score to Mother Earth, cooking up a sonic gumbo of latin/african/middle eastern/western grooves, electronics and soundscapes. Self-described as a ‘foodie’ or ‘plant-based’ band, PTB incorporate sounds and rhythms of nature as a quasi-collaborator to the music and visuals. Live, the band use audio-reactive video projections and field recordings to create an immersive experience of sound, music and image. And scents.
